Equip Africa’s vision of becoming a premier training and research college in health sciences in Africa has been given a major boost! Equip Africa has been awarded full accreditation by the Kenya Nutritionists & Dieticians Institute (KNDI). Previously operating on an interim licence, the College was on October 18th, 2019 awarded full accreditation to train Diploma and Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics students.
The full accreditation was awarded after Equip Africa College met the stringent training standards required by the KNDI. The Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute was established by an Act of Parliament No.18 of 2007 (CAP 253B), to provide for training, registration and licensing of nutritionists and dieticians, to provide for the regulation of the standards, and practice of the profession to ensure their effective participation in matters relating to nutrition and dietetics and for related purposes.
Speaking while awarding the full certificate of training, the KNDI CEO, Dr. David Okeyo hailed Equip Africa College’s word-class skills laboratories, qualified training staff, and rich hospital partnerships that will ensure that Nutrition & Dietetics students studying at Equip Africa Institute graduate with top-notch professional skills that are much needed in the health sector.
